The City of Jackson, the Mainstreet Committee of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, and the Butts County Health Department are working together to encourage citizens to get the COVID vaccines. During its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the Jackson City Council approved a plan to invest up to $50,000 of funds the city will receive from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to fund vouchers valued at $50 each to be given to any Butts County resident who gets a COVID vaccination/shot during the campaign. A fifty-dollar voucher will be given to every Butts County resident for each vaccine shot received between the dates of October 1 and December 31, 2021. The vaccines must be administered by the Butts County Health Department and vouchers will be distributed by same. Proof of Butts County residency will be required and the vouchers will be redeemable at participating businesses in the City of Jackson.
City of Jackson businesses who wish to participate, must register with the Chamber of Commerce.
Participating businesses must present used voucher(s) to the Chamber of Commerce office for reimbursement within 30 days of the transaction. The Chamber of Commerce will send reimbursement to participating business within 5 business days of receipt of the used voucher(s). All requests for reimbursement of spent voucher(s) must be received by the Chamber of Commerce office by January 5, 2022, and no used vouchers will be accepted by the Chamber of Commerce after that date.
