Jackson-Butts Council for the Arts Meeting

                                                                                                    MEETING NOTICE

Happy New Year!  The Jackson-Butts County Council for the Arts will hold its regular meeting on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6 pm at The Daughtry Foundation Building, 221 E College St, Jackson.  The Hosting Team will be Chuck and Marie Wheeler, Amy Fletcher and Patricia Watson.  The hosts will be treating us to a taco bar featuring meat selections of ground beef, chicken and carnitas as well as chips, tea and water.  Members are asked to bring an appetizer, adult beverage, salad, side veggie dish or dessert to complement the taco bar.

The featured program will be local artist and new member, Carolyn Fuller.  She will tell us about her journey and inspiration in becoming an artist and will explain how art has impacted her life.  Carolyn was a recent first place winner of our Butts County Creates show for local, nonprofessional artists. 

Our business meeting will be filled with reports of past and upcoming happenings as well as budget proposals, and the opportunity to renew your membership or become a new member.  Guests are always welcome to attend to learn about our efforts to grow art awareness, appreciation and access in the Jackson area.  Resolve to become more involved in your community in 2024…the Arts Council is a great way to serve!

Attached are the minutes from our November meeting.  Please read them over and let us know at the meeting if you have any corrections.

And, finally, it is time for membership dues!  Attached is a membership form that shows the amounts and different memberships.  Please remember our dues are our only regular incoming funds.  We would like to have all the dues in by the March meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact Candee at 770-596-0304.  We appreciate all our members!
