Jackson-Butts County Council for the Arts
May 9 Meeting Notice!
You are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Jackson-Butts County Council for the Arts on Thursday, May 9, at 6 pm. The meeting will be held at the Daughtry Foundation Building, 221 College Street in Jackson. Hosts for the evening include Cheryl and Hank Hilderbrand, and Barbara and Wayne Phillips. They will provide fried chicken, tea, water and paper products. Members are asked to bring an appetizer, salad, side dish or dessert to share. Social time will begin at 6 pm, followed by the covered dish supper. Guests are always welcome!
The regular business meeting will follow a program featuring Rhonda Miller, a multi-media artist from Macon. In spite of being an artist for only a brief period of time, Ms. Miller’s work has been featured in a number of regional shows and galleries including Macon Arts Alliance and Middle Georgia Arts Association. Her unique expressive style of folk art is rooted in a painful childhood. Art provides a way for her to release her emotion on canvas, and find healing.
Come for a good meal, experience an opportunity to meet a new artist, and become informed with an update on our arts council’s activities. Find out how you can become involved to show your support for the arts within our community. There are many ways to be part of an active council…we’d love for you to come find out!
